We understand how frustrating is can be to have poor audio quality during a phone call. In order to determine what is causing or contributing to the issues on your line, we would like to have you run a few tests prior to contacting Technical Support.

Important Information
The following situations are potential causes of sound issues:

  • Satellite Internet: There is a delay in the transmission of satellite signals because the signals are sent in bursts and not a steady flow. You may experience sound issues as a result. PhonePower is not able to recommend or support using satellite internet.
  • Wireless Internet: Wireless Internet service is susceptible to interruptions due to weather or other environmental factors resulting in sound issues. PhonePower is not able to recommend or support using wireless internet.

  • Check connections, check the phone cord, make sure SIP ALG is disabled in your modem/router
  • Please TEST YOUR CONNECTION HERE. After the test has completed and the summary tab is displayed, please refresh the page (or press F5 on your keyboard) and you will be taken back to the beginning.
  • Click the button to start the test a 2nd time. Once complete, please refresh once more and run the test a 3rd and final time.

If the test page appears to be blank when you pull it up, then you will need to add exceptions to your computer’s Java security and/or your Java Runtime may be out of date.

To add the necessary exceptions to your computer’s Java, follow the instructions below:

  • Open the Windows start menu and select “Control Panel.”
  • When on the Control Panel page, select “Java” to open up the Java Control Panel
  • Select the “Security” tab of the Java Control Panel and press the button labeled “edit site list”
  • Press the “Add” button and enter the following two addresses as separate entries to this list:
