Setting up your Grandstream
For your setup, you will need to connect the phone to the Phone 1 port with a phone cord. The Phone should be going directly to the device as this device does not support wall jacks.
If you need more advanced instructions for your setup, please go to this link.
Your Grandstream HT502 comes with :
Phone Adapter (also known as an ATA - Analogue Terminal Adapter)
Ethernet Cord
Power Plug
The Grandstream will need an internet connection. Below are different methods of connecting your device depending on your local network.
The basic setup consists of a modem and a pc.
You will need to connect the adapter between them by using the Ethernet cord.
If you have a router, you can set it up in one of 2 ways.
Before the router:
and After the router:
Depending on issues with the router settings, we prefer you install the ATA in front of the router.
If you have a gateway which is a modem and router combo device, this is the setup that you will need.
Please note: Since the gateway is a router as well, the ATA will need to be behind it, regardless of another router in your network.
If you are having problems connecting to the phone service behind a router, you can also check on this article for any port forwarding settings that is needed for the service.
You will need to get the private IP address of the ATA by picking up the phone and dialing * * * 02
