Edgemarc LAN setup
The Edgewater Edgemarc 4500 we provide is specially designed to direct traffic for a pluarlity of VOIP devices within your network. However, in order to do so, it must receive a public IP from your network. Please see the following in regards to configuring a public IP for your network.
Furthermore, please ensure the VOIP phones are receiving an IP from the Edgemarc either by have them connected directly to the Edgemarc or by connecting an unmanaged switch to a port on the Edgemarc.
--- Likely the network resembles the following, though it may not be an exact match.
Ultimately, however, the network setup should resemble the following after setup is complete:
Note that the VOIP phones are connected directly to the Edgemarc so as to receive an IP from it via a switch. An unmanaged switch is recommended and may be required if the number of connections necessary exceeds the 4 ports available on the Edgemarc.
Your currently existing Firewall or wireless router can connect to the Edgemarc directly or via a switch
NOTE:please do not connect the IP phones to your firewall as this will prevent them from working correctly.
